I have bought one for my broken lcd and would like to replace it. I know this is a very old thread (!) but I wanted to ask if you had any advice on replacing the flex board + lcd in an a300. I appreciate everyone's input, advice, and experience. I have looked for used A300/A350's, and might explore that further if the above option isn't reasonable.įinally, I've been a member on here for a long time, but haven't been active recently at all. There isn't much detail in any of the postings about the 'backlight.' Any thoughts from others as to whether something like this would work? Here's an example of one of the postings: >. I have found a couple of listings on ebay for an AUO version "plus backlight." These are also in the sub-$20 price range. I've looked for the LF-057 flexboard for the AUO version, but the link for this product that was posted by wmarchewka/Walt states "no longer available," and I can't find any on ebay, or on any site via a Google Search. I've found AUO versions of the LCD for USD$11-15. On ebay the sony branded replacements are USD$100-160, which doesn't make much sense to me given the age of the camera. I've opened the housing of the LCD, and mine is the Sony branded one, not the AUO version. I currently have quite a few accessories for this camera (including a vertical grip, etc.), so I'd like to fix/replace the LCD if possible, instead of getting a new body. I've read through all of the messages on this thread. The rest of the camera works, as long as I use the OVF. Unfortunately, I just damaged the LCD of my A300 yesterday.
SONY A350 CASE MANUAL
I found the manual here ( ) just make sure you download all 7 multiparts (0 through 6) before you try to open it. LF-057 flex cable (for Sony LCD) SONY PART NUMBER A-1466-493-A LF-057 flex cable (for AUO LCD) SONY PART NUMBER A-1541-126-A The nice thing is that once you change the flex board, you can use the cheaper AUO screens found on Ebay. to replace the LF-057 cable requires taking the front and back covers off, about an hour. To replace the LCD itself is about a 10 minute job. With the screen being about $11 it is about the cheapest solution. I purchased the new LF-057 from here ( h ttps://) for about $40. That's why it must be changed when the screen type changes. The LF-057 flex board contains circuitry relevant to the LCD you have. The Sony part number for that is (A-1541-126-A). But to get it to back to original, i needed to buy the correct LF-057 flex board that was designed for the AUO board. So my example is that I had the original Sony screen in the camera, and when i ordered a replacement from Ebay ( ) which was the AUO type, the screen functioned by had a high contrast look. There was a supplement (Supplement-3) to the newest repair manual (ver 1.8 2009.06) that outlined this. To replace the screen, you need both the correct branded LCD (either AUO or SONY) along with the correct LF-057 to go along with it.
